Sorry about the lack of updates (I'm probably forgotten already anyway).
But I've been pretty damn busy with schoolwork, as my bro arkan15 can account for. Yeah, Organic Chemistry really bites down on your time and grades.
But really, it's because I've been drawing alot in the past month. I've posted a bit here and there over my livejournal but I've posted ALOT of stuff on my deviant account. Most of the sketches are of the members of my RO guild, Imperials. But I also have a couple of random sketches here and there too (there are two sketches of Saber that I made too ^^)
I've also started my own manga, Destiny Reborn. It takes place in the Ragnarok Online world, so basically, it's a medieval setting. The main character, Abel Vox, is a former general in Rune-Midgard and is a sword wielding knight. Anyway, I have the first couple of strips done for it on my deviant account, although they are kinda messy. I'll get character profiles up pretty soon.
My Artwork
Sorry, I haven't gotten to the CGing of my artwork yet.

Takahashi Hitomi - Bokutachi no Yukue |

Well, my college kung fu club's demo went pretty well. Everyone did their roles very nicely, especially our kung fu master, who did a KICKASS sword style with a Chinese long sword. It was really cool because we got alot of thanks from the residential college staff. Also, we got first dibs on the barbeque food (Mmmmmm, free food :) ).
Afterwards, we got to hang around at one of our member's apartment. It was really weird because everyone except for me and two other freshmen were drinking Corona Extras and Smirnoffs. Plus, they offerred them to us, but I mean, if my parents smelled the alcohol.......BIG TROUBLE. We saw the stupidest, lowest budget Chinese kung fu film ever. Hell, I don't even remember what the name of it was, but yeah, it really annoyed me when the villain could only make cat screeching noises.
We got a bit rowdy in the apartment later....our kung fu master started trying to grab people's legs and punch our thighs. It got pretty darn intense but thankfully, I wasn't a part of the whole big mess.
Last night, I was a bit bored, so I drew something else. Any advice on how to improve it would be appreciated. It's one of my best works so far, but it's still far from being GOOD. Here it is:

I just realized how I have a sh*tload of homework/essays/exams to prepare for tomorrow and next week. Yeah, organic chemistry is a bitch because I just transferred into the class, so I missed the first chapter from the textbook. Math is annoying because I'm careless (and it'll probably get me killed or something in the future).
Plus, I have an essay to revise for next week. The prompt for it is about defining terms like "journal" and "blog" and how they relate to the college community. So yeah, my instructor was like, "you have to make your essay more compelling" and I was like, "WTF? How do I make talking about that interesting?". So I have a couple of days to resolve that.
On top of that, my college is having a family day over the weekend, and my college kung fu club is supposed to have a demo to kickoff the barbeque. I haven't been to the past 3 practices so I'm hopelessly unprepared for this. Here's the stuff that we'll be doing in the demo:
-Horse form - alternate -4 postures 5 Flights -5 pattern blocking -3 punch 3 block -low block double temple -Su Fong Su Bei -Horse Series 1 - 3 -Elbow piercing heart -Tornado kicks -Front Iron Broom -Spinning side kick
I haven't even learned Horse Series 2 and 3 yet, or Tornado kicks. So yeah, I'm screwed, and I'm going to embarass myself in front of my parents.

HOME MADE KAZOKU - Thank You!! |
] |
Hmmm, what a busy week. Besides having to do a crapload of organic chem homework, I definitely downloaded and watched waaaayyyy too much anime. In the past 4 days, I watched the entire Macross Zero series (5 ep), the entire Samurai Deeper Kyo Series (26 ep), the entire Xenosaga series (12 ep), the FF7: Advent Children movie (1hr. 40min.), and Bleach (49 ep).
Man, I'm such a bum.
Anyway, I have like 3 tests next week, which is going to be crazy. On top of that, I have to do some serious practice on my basic kung fu stances/forms: four postures five flights, horse series, horse form, natural weapons, tantoi 1 series, and 5 pattern blocking/punching. Yeah, I need to perfect these for my kung fu club's demonstration on Friday.
Btw, I just got a new mousepad, and it's really cute. Here's a picture of it on my desk.

Btw, thanks servant_saber for the Fate/hollow ataraxia music. It's really good.
Well, somehow I felt like drawing again, so that I wouldn't spend as much time playing computer games. I haven't drawn in a long time, but it would be nice to start again. Here's two pictures that I drew last night. Sorry if they don't look too great (I'm not too good with body part proportions and perspective).
( Pictures )
So yeah, it was kinda fun drawing again.
Anyway, I was playing Ragnarok Online yesterday and I found some Anime fans in my guild. I asked them if any of them knew about Fate/Stay Night, and they all said no - so I told them that it was an H-game but with a GOOD storyline. I got some weird comments after that (there are both girls and guys in my guild).
But I'm busy as hell now. I have an exam in Calculus II tomorrow, an 4 page essay to write, some math problems to do, some Chinese characters to practice writing, and some reading to do.
*sigh

Sorry for the laziness - I love kung fu, I love computer games, and of course, I love having friends.
Anyway, I think that I'm going to drop Chem323 (Organic Chem Honors) for Chem 223 (Intro to Organic Chem.), since I'm still rusty on the general chemistry.
Lately, I've been lazy in my studies - I've missed two math classes (slept in too late), and went late to two classes (comon, I check my email alot, do you?).
Anyway, I noticed that there are ALOT of Koreans in my school. It's kinda weird because alot of them smoke and slack off in their classes. And some of them try to act ghetto.
Oh yes, of course. I really love kung fu (even though we moved from 20 pushups to 30 pushups and then 50 pushups.....). Still, I'll be in great shape and kicking ass by the end of the semester.

Woohoo!!! More movies. I mean, at my college, you can see movies for $3.00 (that's a significant improvement over the $7.00 tickets in New Jersey). Plus, popcorn is only $1.50. So yeah, that's cool. The movies are awesome too. I just finished watching Boondock Saints (it's about two Irish Catholics who deal out vigilante justice) and last night (early at 1:00am this morning)I saw Sin City (alot of police killing, liberal use of blood, and violence). Two great movies at a price that is within my college budget.
I also finished installing a carpet in my room today. I have to say, I did a good job, even though it was DAMN hard (stupid bedposts). Also, I plugged my new refrigerator in and for the first time, I have cold drinks in my own room. I bought a new printer yesterday so that's next on my to-do list.
Btw, the Anime Club in my school is ok (they actually have a decent attendance) but I wish that at least someone knew about type-moon (everyone raves about the more popular anime like Trigun).

RURUTIA - halleluya |

Well, I just finished my first kung fu club practice today. Unlike what you may think of clubs, this one doesn't kid around. Our warm-up exercises actually made me sweat and breathe heavily (yes, holding your legs up in the V-position for 2 minutes is tiring). Obviously, there was alot of stretching, push ups, and sit ups.
In any case, we worked on some basics today, so we learned a couple of stances. The most basic of stances, the Horse Form, goes like this:
-Step out left into Horse: Feet a little more than shoulder width apart pointing forward. Sit low. -Turn left into Bow: Feet at 45 degrees towards the right. Back leg straight and front leg bent. Weight slightly forward. -Step into Cat: Lead leg turns to 45 degrees towards the left and step forward with the toe of right foot just touching the ground. Sit low and extend toe out some. -Up into Crane: Lead leg drives up so you are entirely on the left foot. Right foot is in front of, but not touching, your left knee. -Seven Star: Right leg stomps down at 45 degree angle. Left leg sweeps around low as to hook someones heel. Left toe is pointed upward. -Shuffle into Cross: Shuffle forward leading with the left foot. RIght foot is placed slightly behind and to tle left of your right foot so legs are almost crossed. Twist and drop into a crouch. Keep legs tight and back straight. Left foot should be about 45 degree angle and right closer to 90 degrees forward. -Drop Stance: Back leg shoots out and weight shifts slightly to the left. -Steal: Standing up bring weight back and onto right leg. Bring left leg behind right and place it out as far as possible. Still facing the same direction the left foot should be at a 90 degree angle with toe pointing toward right foot. -Turn around into Horse
It's not too hard once you get used to it, and there actually is alot of practical application to other more complicated kung fu moves.
Another basic stance is called Natural Weapons, and it goes like this:
-Fist: Hands punch streight out. -Cross: Elbows drop slightly and hands cross at wrists. -Around, Block: Arms come down (palms up) lightly smack legs and circle up above head. At last moment wrists snap (palms to sky) and head looks up at hands. -Claw: Arms come straight down and are held out from body. Hands are held tight in claw. -In: Arms come in front of body. Hands and forearms point slightly out from body. -Around Hook: Arms come down, back of hands strike legs as arms circle all the way around and hook. Hands in crane's Beak.
Likewise, relatively simple and quick.
And finally, since we started our practice a bit late, we only got to arm flowers, and we didn't get to the spear thrust form. Doing arm flowers goes like this: - go into guard stance, legs slightly apart at 45 degree angles and one leg forwards. Hands are held up front. - front hand wrist goes up (the wrist, not the arm, leads the movement) - at the apex of the wrist raising, the other arms comes around to block downwards. The front arm settles back into guard position. Movements form a circular pattern - repeat with other hand as the front hand (thus creating a "flower"-like movement)
This is done extremely fast and is used to block blows to the upper body. My instructor assured me that no matter how many blows go to your face, the arm flowers can knock them away as long as the arm flowers are quick enough.
So yeah, practice was from 7:30pm-9:00pm, so I was tired afterwards. I just settled with some Organic Chem homework, some Ragnarok Online, and sleep.

Well, it's day 3 in college and I'm actually pretty excited. Even though I have to take Chem 323 (that's Organic Chemistry, btw), I'm just chillin around since classes haven't started yet. I just recently went to the student organizations fair and I signed up for quite a few clubs. First off, I signed up for their kung fu club. Now listen, just because it's a club doesn't mean that they're slack offs. They actually have conditioning and serious training. Hell, they even go to national competitions and actually place in the competitions. But yeah, they can be relaxed at times, and better yet the advanced members get to practice weapon styles (I think that they're bringing the staff style and double daggers styles to the club this year). So yeah, I think i'll like it.
Also, I joined their Asian club - I mean seriously, I'm Asian, and their Asian club is the largest club on the college campus.
Likewise, I signed up for their anime club. It's nice because I get to watch anime for free and stuff, but unfortunately, none of them know about type-moon and even fewer know about graphic novels either (damn, I was hoping for some fate/stay night fans).
And, of course, I joined their archery club. Yes, I was thinking of fate/stay night a bit when I signed up, but really, I want to learn how to shoot stuff.

MELL - Fall in Love |

Oh yeah, my first day in college is great. Not only do I have a single room (which gives me soooo much privacy), but I have a great campus, great food, and of course, great internet connection. The wireless internet here in my college is second only to NASA! What's with that? I mean seriously, I can download 8 gigs of stuff in 15 minutes.
Plus, I already made an acquaintance with an upperclassman in my college who's asian and in a frat (kinda weird and cool at the same time). Anyway, I missed their capture the flag game tonight at 11:00PM, but I'll see if his frat is having another game tomorrow.
Btw, I'm only about 30 min. away from Oberlin College (I have 2 friends from high school going there) and 2 hours away from my brother's ( arkan15 ) college. So yeah, I'm happy right now.

Well, today was quite a bright day. Since I am going to college soon (no more freeloading off parents for rides and money), my dad decided to take me to the beach today. It was the perfect day - 80s most of the time, a slight breeze, and of course, plenty of sun.
Let me tell you, Point Pleasant was awesome, since I haven't been to any beach in about 2 years. At first, I thought that the beach was a stupid idea, but man, riding the waves was fun. You sit in the water for a bit and then a big wave comes rolling in and sweeps you back to the shore. I didn't realize how hard the waves roll in - I got knocked over and into the sand (the sand scratches you alot) the first time I did that but let me tell you, I could have spent hours just doing that over and over again.
Anyway, after that, I chilled out with a cold drink and dippin dots ice cream (the ice cream that is in little beads) under some shade. I played a bit of arcade games after that, but I got bored after I realized that the House of the Dead 2 arcade game had really messed up guns - they fired to the side, so I kept missing.
*sigh
So today is really the last day before college - tomorrow is completely devoted to buying some last minute stuff and packing for college.

So, I was waiting in line for the Superman's Flight roller coaster in Six Flags Great Adventure, and frankly, I was quite bored (don't worry, the wait was only 2 hours instead of 4 hours if I went on Kingda Ka). I looked around for a bit, looking at all the people's tattoos (there were alot, btw). Anyway, this one guy's tattoos caught my attention. I looked in closer and, DAMN, they were anime tattoos. I mean, they were two tattooed anime-style female faces. And when I say DAMN, I really mean I was damn surprised. First of all, who has anime tattooes anyway in America? Plus, these tattooes weren't the cheap temporary ones either. These were the needle and ink and painful kind of tattooes. This guy didn't look like a geek either. He was tall, probably in his 20s, tanned, portly, hispanic, wearing sports jersey and jean shorts.
So yeah, I was DAMN surprised. Trust me, for an American, this was pretty bold stuff.
Anyway, I was eating dinner when I realized that in Fate/Stay Night, there are 3 servants that get little or no attention.
First is Assassin (Sasaki Kojirou). Seriously, he doesn't appear very much (since, as and assassin, he's supposed to be hiding all the time). Second, is Gilgamesh. I mean, not alot of people like others who are selfish and arrogant (no offense to ataraxia . I don't mind the selfishness and arrogance.).
And lastly is Caster. If she had actually lived longer (than to get killed early on in the game), then we might be able to like her more. I mean, it would have made a good side plot with her romance with her master and I sure as hell would have wanted to see more of it - but then again, we're supposed to focus on the main character's relationships and plus, she's supposed to be evil (but not really). I felt bad for her so I made my userpic in her image. She looks rather nice in that pic too :) . So, cheers to Caster, who had a chance for a romance but got killed as soon as it came up.

So I'm falling asleep in my computer chair at around noon. I'm still so jetlagged but that's what happens when you get back from a long trip.
In any case, I got my hands on a downloaded copy of the Fate/Stay Night music album "Wish" (sorry, I'm too cheap to buy it myself and I'm not in Taiwan anymore). I wasn't too impressed by the music, but, still, it's game music, so I'm ok with it.
On a more stranger note, I've been reading some editorials online at Outpost Nine Editorials , and frankly, I'm buzzed out about what the author has to say about Japanese people. The author of this site, is an African-American who's teaching Japanese in Jr. High School classes in Kyoto and the editorials are about his journal of his stay. There's alot of mentioning of kancho and kids making sexual innuendos (remember, these kids are only 12-15 yrs old), so yeah, I'm kinda disturbed by this.
If anyone is looking for photos of other type-moon stuff from my trip in Taiwan, check out arkan15

KOTOKO - Abyss |

After about 6 hours of fiddling around with random html overrides, I finally finished the layout for this LJ.
In any case, I just got back from Taiwan after 3 weeks. Aside from my little to no knowledge of Chinese (every person in Taiwan asks "How can Chinese people not know Chinese?") and the two typhoons (with one coming right after I left), Taiwan was the best trip I had ever taken. So, here are the two things that make Taiwan better than going on a shopping spree at the local mall.
1. FOOD Yes, food. You can't live without it. So, here in America, a bowl of beef noodles is at least 5 USD, but in Taiwan, I could walk right around a corner from my grandparents' apartment and get a bowl of beef noodles for 60 NT!!!!!! That's like 2 USD.
2. Shopping Oh yes. You can't stay in Asia for 3 weeks without buying something. I went into an anime store, and I found tons of posters, some pictures with the artists' signatures (all H-game pictures, of course :) ), storyline novels, and lots of paraphernalia. Speaking of which, I love Fate/Stay night, so I got these.

I also got a nice-looking Tsukihime artbook (very nice looking considering that it was done by a Taiwanese guy), and my brother got some mini Saber&Shirou figurines, along with some Gundam Seed Destiny models.
I think that I should put those two figurines on my desk in college.
So there.
